I'm apparently very good at predicting a very specific plot twist

Putting this post in spoiler text since it's also a major spoiler for the first season of Severance (which is a fantastic TV show)

!Me in like episode two of Severance: "huh I wonder if Helly is the CEO's daughter"!<

! Me the moment the game starts to hint at Maelle being special: "huh I wonder if Maelle is the Paintress's daughter. !<

!I'm apparently very good at predicting the twist "the protagonist is secretly the main antagonist's daughter and had an important role in setting up the main conflict. But then she had her memories wiped, leading to her getting a new name and essentially becoming a new person. Which then creates conflict as there are two different people with two different sets of memories and life experiences living in the same body.!<

! Granted, Maelle being the Paintress's daughter is MUCH more heavily foreshadowed than Helly being Helena Eagan, but I guessed at both fairly early. And also granted I got a number of things wrong---I thought Maelle being the Paintress's daughter was connected to her being an orphan (like a Luke Skywalker situation where she never met her parents so she doesn't realize who they are), and I gave up on my Helly theory later before the big reveal. And also granted that being severed is very different than being painted over, and Maelle/Alicia end up essentially becoming the same person once she gets her memories back, while Helly R and Helly E are diametrically opposed as of the end of season 2. But it's funny to note the parallels. !<
