Need Help Synchronizing Two Single-Phase Generators (Stuck on Phase Angle!)
Hi everyone,
I'm a 19-year-old high school student who is really passionate about electrical systems. I'm currently working on a project where I need to synchronize and run two single-phase generators (alternators) in parallel, and I've run into a roadblock.
I understand the basic conditions for synchronization. I can successfully match the Equal Voltage Magnitude and the Equal Frequency.
However, I am completely stuck on how to safely match the Phase Angle (Phase Displacement). I was also getting confused about Phase Sequence, though I recently learned that doesn't apply to single-phase systems.
My main concern is safety. I want to parallel these two generators without causing any short circuits, circulating currents, or catastrophic damage to the machines.
Can anyone explain the safest, most practical step-by-step method to monitor and match the phase angle perfectly before closing the breaker? If you have any wiring diagrams or specific safety precautions for a beginner, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thanks in advance for your help!
