Hey everyone,

I’m having a heated technical debate with a person who runs a shared VPS, and we even resorted to arguing over AI screenshots to prove our points. I need some network experts here to settle this once and for all. I've attached screenshots of our translated chat logs for context.

Here is the scenario. There is a shared VPS running an Xray server with a standard VLESS protocol setup, which is currently used by about 100 people simultaneously.

For my personal setup, I am using a magisk module named Magic V2Ray to configure a Client-Side Proxy Chain. The traffic flow on my local device is structured as: My App to WireGuard (Cloudflare WARP), then to VLESS via the Shared VPS, and finally out to the Internet.

My reason for doing this is simple. Since it's a shared IP, if 1 of those 100 users misbehaves and gets the VPS IP flagged or blacklisted, I still want a clean exit IP from Cloudflare to access blocked sites safely. Meanwhile, the other 99 users are just using the normal VLESS configuration directly from Client to VLESS to Internet.

Here is where the argument starts. The owner of VPS claims that because I am nesting or chaining proxies, it will somehow affect the routing of the entire VPS. They think that my traffic will force the VPS to change its external IP settings, or cause terrible latency, lag, and disconnects for the other 99 users sharing the server. They even asked an AI which gave a vague answer about Server-Side chaining, completely missing the client-side context of my setup.

On the other hand, my claim is that this is entirely a client-side configuration. My phone packages the encrypted WireGuard payload before tunneling it through VLESS. To the VPS, my connection is just an isolated stream of raw data bytes that it blindly forwards to the internet. The VPS has no administrative awareness of WireGuard, and it cannot possibly alter the network routing or performance of the other 99 completely independent users.

I would like to ask the community two questions:

- First, am I correct that a completely client-side proxy chain like WireGuard over VLESS is 100% isolated and has zero impact on the server's global routing or other users' IP and latency?
- Second, how can I explain the fundamental difference between client-side nesting and server-side chaining to them in the simplest way possible?

Any technical explanations or feedback on the chat logs would be highly appreciated. Thanks guys!
