Planning to drop the course ! Need advice
I'm seriously considering dropping CA, and this isn't an impulsive decision.
I've been diagnosed with a mental health condition and I'm on medication as well as in therapy. Despite getting professional help, my articleship at a Big 6 firm took a significant toll on my mental health. I spiralled during that period, and eventually resigned.
Academically, I'm not a weak student. I cleared CA Inter in my first attempt and have generally performed well academically throughout my life, so this isn't about not being capable. It's more about whether continuing is costing me too much mentally.
Right now I'm torn between two options:
A) Joining another, hopefully less demanding, mid-sized firm and trying to complete my articleship there, or
B) Accepting that CA may not be the right path for me anymore and dropping the course altogether.
I'm not looking for people to simply tell me to "push through" or "don't quit." I'd really like to hear from people who have actually been in a similar situation.
Did anyone here drop CA because of mental health or burnout? And what did you move on to?
I'd really appreciate honest experiences, whether positive or negative. I feel quite alone in this decision, and hearing from people who've actually been through it would help me think more clearly.
