Can't figure out ecs which relate with my interests

I was planning for MIT, my interest is in ai robotics n material science

I have a long term goal of researching in MIT (if i got into) in these fields to show MIT bout myself i need some extracurriculars which define my interests.

One i got know was to ace in international ai olympiads

I saw many students doing random extracurriculars irrelevant to their interests just to get in , i also saw some participating in robotics related championships with some sponsors through some brands like redbull

His long term goal is to work in f1 ,he won some competitions to for fastest cars or drones too

This relativity is what ig MIT wants to see

Can i have you guys' opinions
