Xenosaga Episode 1 Character Menu Softlock

I'm having an issue trying to emulate Xenosaga 1, the game starts off fine, but whenever I open the Characters Menu, the game softlocks and none of my inputs work, I can't exit nor can I change characters, the character's 3D models that are supposed to show up there also don't appear. I'm not playing with any patches or cheats enabled, and I'm using the latest Nightly version (Current Stable version causes the same issues), any ideas how to fix this would be greatly apprecieted, thanks.
