New ACRRM Trainee Needing Advice !
Hi everyone,
I’ve just accepted my ACRRM training position, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around the training pathway. I’d really appreciate any advice or insights from those who have been through it!
- I have no anaesthetics experience and only minimal paediatrics experience as a PGY3. Would it be feasible to complete these core rotations (or my CGT year) in an RMO/SRMO position? I’m not yet confident enough to work as a registrar in these departments or take registrar-level on-call shifts. Are there alternative pathways to complete these requirements?
- What is the minimum duration required for each core rotation to meet the CGT requirements?
- For WA and/or Victoria, are there any training sites you would recommend? As I'm still relatively junior, good supervision and educational support are my top priorities, even if it means a lower earning potential. Planned to go for either GPO or GP-Pall down the road if everything goes well.
- Are there any Facebook groups or other online communities for ACRRM trainees? I’ve been trying to find one but haven’t had much luck.
Thanks so much in advance! I really appreciate any advice or experiences you're willing to share.
