What Condom do you prefer for the first time?

Long story short, my partner and I are planning to get intimate and we're both virgins and it will be our first time. She is insisting on taking birth control so we can have sex without protection but I don't want her to take birth control pills cause I've heard it can cause side effects. Mind you she was in hospital for a year and half getting treated for cancer and she is very fine now but she experienced period delays and what not during that time I really don't want her health to suffer cause her health is my biggest priority.

I do want our first time to be good but not at the cost of her health so I have told her we'll use protection. From what little I know condom sex is not so fun for both men and women. Do you have any recommendations for condoms that are comfortable, well lubricated and less likely to cause irritation for either partner especially her afterall my main goal is for both of us to feel safe comfortable and enjoy our first time together.
