Eddie Trunk just replayed an old call in episode, which was the better debut, The Cars or Boston. It was basically even

Eddie assumed that it would be a landslide for Boston (myself included) but it was neck and in neck for most of the episode. The points raised against Boston was that their songs were overplayed, and for The Cars, they were too quirky, but amazingly there was a point where The Cars were actually ahead.

It really didn't take into account their live show, but more about just based on the strength of the songs on the record. In the end it was more Elliot Easton vs Tom Scholz, where IMO Scholz easily wins. Would like to continue the discussion here, which album would you pick as the better debut?
