What do I need to know about DIY hrt?

I don’t know if this is the right subreddit to post on or not but it’s just that it’s been looking more and more interesting since wait lists in Scotland take years. What kind of risks am I taking ( very ridiculous question ) are there any risks to me health wise like overdose ( I know it’s just hormones but just worried about it. )
