If you've ever tried to replace a mattress in an RV and realized 'queen' doesn't mean what you thought it meant: you're not wrong.

RV mattresses use different dimensions than standard home beds, and the naming conventions are just similar enough to cause expensive mistakes.

Quick cheat sheet for the confused:
— RV Short Queen: 60" x 75" (standard queen is 60" x 80" — that 5 inches matters)
— RV King: 72" x 80" (standard king is 76" x 80")
— RV California King: 72" x 84" (closest to standard, most flexible option)
— Bunk sizes: 28–35" wide, 75–80" long — much narrower than any home twin

The short version: always measure your RV platform before ordering anything. The names are guidelines, not guarantees.

Worth noting: standard Purple mattresses aren't made in RV-specific sizes, but the standard sizes can fit many RV platforms — just double-check measurements first. Also worth knowing: the GelFlex Grid can be sensitive to prolonged high heat exposure (think RV parked in direct sun), so factor that in if you run hot environments.
