Crib vs Bassinet [on]

I plan on keeping the baby in our room till he is atleast 8 months. Maybe 12. We have room and can accommodate a crib in our bedroom.
I am wondering if I can just buy a crib and not bother about a bassinet.

I also have a maxi- cosi stroller which has a bassinet attachment. Wondering if that can be used as a bassinet for bedroom?

With my first we just did a graco crib, that also became his toddler bed, but it’s been 7 years and I am not sure this time. What are the pros of a bassinet? And if crib will work just fine.
