Why is your first piece of advice always to break up?

I’ve been going through this subreddit a lot for the past bit and every post that has to do with a suspicion or a relationship problem has top comments with the most upvotes along the lines of “yeah you should break up with him” or “tell her x or your relationship should end”.

In my experiences, breaking up shouldn’t even be mentioned or hinted at unless there is a SERIOUS crack in the relationship. So stop getting people to think of things like that. (This of course doesn’t apply to confirmed cheating and assault)

Also instead of encouraging people who are suspect to end things, encourage them to dig deeper! And encourage people going through hardships to try to resolve their problems. Keep in mind you’re only seeing one side of the story in these and there’s probably more to it.

I feel like a lot of the advice that comes from this subreddit is from people who have experienced trauma and have trust issues 😭.
