Typing the new Supergirl movie (spoilers)
I watched the new Supergirl movie, and now I feel like I gotta type her!
Supergirl - ESFP 7w8
Her motto is "Stay calm, don't freak out", which she says multiple times in the movie. She is extremely optimistic and hates anything negative, she actively tries to put on a calm face even though she's intensely emotional & can't stop her anger and frustration. Her emotions are internalized and takes a lot for her to open up about them. Kara floats through life, living almost completely in the moment, grabbing opportunities as they appear and learning through hands-on experience instead of envisioning possibilities all starry-eyed, pies-in-the-sky (like Marvel's Starlord, ENFP 7w6). When things get tough, she gets serious and bulldozes through it with Tertiary Te logic, often clashing with her xSTJ sidekick who repeatedly berated Kara for her rash low Te and lack of forethought.
As a 7, Kara likes to talk her way out of situations and treat dangerous situations like it's not serious. Very Bugs Bunny-ish. She runs away from all her problems, and in fact FOMO and wandering is her main issue (and part of her character development)
Despite being ESFP, she's still a 7 and clashes with actual true 8s who are reactive instead of positive and treats truly dangerous situations seriously and with immediate reaction. Supergirl literally smoothtalks both Lobo and Krem, and thinks she can outsmart and charm her way out of everything.
The moral of Supergirl movie is extremely Se-Fi coded. All about her identity, finding herself in adventurers, and whether or not Kara stays true to herself and be a "good" person
Ruthyes - xSTJ 1w2
An extremely clever and determined girl hellbent on revenge. She has a powerful memory, and has practiced her skills to perfection. In new situations she always gets bamboozled, until she has some time to get her bearings. She is very precocious and almost seems like an adult when she scolds Kara who is much older than her, but Ruthyes is still very immature 13 year old girl.
Krem - ESTP 7w8
He seems like an 8 surface level, due to being your typical physically violent brute, until you put him next to Lobo, and then you realize Krem is just a really evil and physically violent 7w8. He literally cannot stop smiling, his mouth is always open in that stupid smirk, and he has an intellectual interest in new things and situations (this is probably due to plot, but still part of his character). He is far more immature than even his henchmen, and thinks he's hilarious when in reality he's a psychopath. Even when he's murdering innocent people hes trying to catch jokes, he can never be truly serious. Like Kara, Krem's first instinct is to try to smooth talk his way first, a stark contrast with Lobo who does none of that. Even Rocket Raccoon from MCU (another ESTP 8) is nothing if not reactive and negative, for comparison.
Lobo - ESTP 8w7
Extremely reactive and pessimistic, he loves violence and wants nothing more than money and sensory pleasures. He is the most aggressive character in Supergirl movie, and enjoys a good fight. Obvious 8 is obvious, he makes Krem look like a limp noodle. He likes revenge (ego vengeance), which made him like Ruthyes, and literally smiled when Krem finally got killed. Kara, an ESFP 7, spoke against seeking revenge, but she's not psycho either...
Superman - ISFJ 2w1
This is pretty obvious. Superman is always a nerdy shy ISFJ. First movie was pure 2w1, the whole plot was restoring his image as a down to earth, normal person. He has a huge amount of pride, and Lois Lane (ESTP 8w7) is way to detatched and harsh for Clark to handle sometimes when she tried interviewing him and throwing him harsh questions (this is more of a 2w1 outrage then ISFJ). In Supergirl, she describes Clark as a huge "nerd" and Superman tried really hard to pretend like he doesn't really miss Kara and could not directly ask her to stop adventuring and come home to him and the family. #enneagram2problems
