Was I out of line for asking my husband to prioritize our anniversary for 24 hours and checking his phone when he didn’t?

My husband and I agreed to pause all non‑emergency calls for 24 hours on our anniversary so we could focus on each other. He broke that boundary the next morning by taking a normal call from his family. When I asked about it, he got upset and deflected.

Later, I checked his phone and saw he had also messaged and called them. When I brought it up, he got mad and said I had been messaging my dad (I hadn’t called anyone).

I’m trying to understand if checking his phone in that moment was unreasonable or if I was reacting to a broken agreement and feeling dismissed. I’d appreciate outside perspectives.

TL;DR We agreed on 24 distraction‑free hours for our anniversary. He broke the boundary, got upset when I asked, and I checked his phone. Was I being unreasonable?
