Scarcity/‘last supper” mindset
CW incase: mentions of intermittent fasting
Has anyone dealt with a pattern with fasting that developed into anxiety around mental timeframes and needing to eat asap bc of past restrictions??
I’m currently getting help for my past disordered eating and have let go of a lot of my food rules, which I’m really proud of. But something I still struggle with heavily is intense anxiety and mental deprivation if I notice it’s almost night and that “I have to stop eating soon” around my past window times, and my body feels like it’s in some type of immediate danger.
Even though I’m trying to remind myself that food is always available and it’s okay to eat whenever I genuinely needs to, my “panic” instincts just take over. Fasting has kinda ruined my hunger cues, so now I just eat more with my mind, but now I feel this urgency to compulsively overeat/ binge before the upcoming time just to calm the panic and feel satiated before I “can eat again”. bc I used to constantly fixate on the time to stop :/ (which just makes it worse lol)
It’s frustrating that food and time just feel like a constant anxiety inducer that my day revolves around rather than a source of fuel 😭 man
