Enjoyed a refreshing fruit cake with custard filling and some iced tea. My dad had a coffee and some apple pie!

I’m a 22 year old who works as a mechanic, so almost all of my colleagues are men. I started working here about a year ago and because I’m one of the only female workers here it was pretty expected that I was gonna get some attention from men.

I would always just laugh off the small comments, not really wanting to make a big deal out of it, but recently the comments have gone too far.

One of the cleaners in our building (a man in his 50s) kept asking if I needed a drive home after my nightshift, even when I declined his offer multiple times. Later he started saying I was the pretties girl in \**name of the city I work in*\* which seems a bit innapropriate since he is so much older than me.

One of my colleagues (30s) asked me if I wanted to grab some coffee together after work, which isn’t that bad in itself since we started out as friends, but the fact that he had called me “hot” multiple times and also has a wife and kids is just weird.

Another one (60s) just straight up told me he had been staring at my ass?? Like what the fuck. I just feel gross walking around here when all I want to do is my job. Then there also was this intern/trainee, a guy my age, who kept asking me on a date multiple times when I had already told him no.

List goes on.

It’s just tiring. I did tell my manager about some of it, and he told me next time this happens I should come to him immediately. Still, these men really ought to know better. It’s annoying this becomes my problem, when I’m not the person who should change their behaviour. I wish they could just think for themselves.

I’m starting to hate my male colleagues
