Advice for a biotech student

Education Advice 📖

I'm a to be junior biotech student. recently I became interested in data science and have started some courses to learn bioinformatics and NGS and python etc. Will these skills be useful at my current level being an undergrad that hasn't had a single job yet, or should I not focus too much on these rn and just make it my goal to finish my degree and get internships to pad out my résumé? I'm enjoying these courses so far so it's not a chore to me or anything like that, but I wanted to know if there was anything more important that I should be focused on doing/learning. I'm a bit lost as to what the job market needs rn and wanted advice from some more seniors in the field to help me figure things out.
