Catch-22 with the Face-ID
When I got my new phone about four months ago, I was pretty paranoid from some of the college courses I had taken about privacy and didn't want to give the phone my face. Now I'm paying for that.
I started onboarding for a new job today. I've been unable to sign into an important work app because it wants a password which is on my keychain, but in order to access my keychain it says it needs my face ID, but as far as I'm aware there is no face ID on file for this phone. So obviously I can't get through. Since my new job is so far from where I live, the Stolen Device Protection has turned on.
In order to turn off Stolen Device Protection, it needs Face ID. "Reset Face ID" is disabled as an option because of Stolen Device Protection. "Set up alternative appearance" requires Face ID. Despite the fact that I don't think this phone was given a face ID, "set up Face ID" is not an option. Somehow I've been caught in this circular thing where I can't access my stuff.
