I unfollowed a group but still seeing messages from that group in my feed

I unfollowed a group because I was getting a bit fed up with the amount of messages I saw from that group but they are still appearing in my feed (the one where only messages from people and pages I follow appear in chronological order). What can I do to stop this from happening? Leaving the group is not an option
