A.B.C. = Any job, Better job, Career.
Well, today, while working my $12.75 per hour-paying "any" job, I took a break and pulled out my phone, where an email was waiting, unopened. I noticed the sender, and became a tiny bit excited, as I've been expecting such an email for about a month, pertaining to my status at a company which would serve as my B, my "better" job, and possibly lead to C for me, my "career" job in the ABC employment equation. The topic and body of the email were as I was hoping they would be, and the rest of my scheduled five-hour shift flew by, but in a way no shift I had worked at D&B had previously flown by before. This was different, in a way so because either I now only have two shifts left at D&B ("any" job) - the ones scheduled for July 4th & 5th, whereas I start the better job on the 6th, or my last shift ended today at 5:00PM, because again, I begin a 40-hour work week on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at 5:30PM, with an "off" time of 2:00AM, and there won't be much room for anything else anywhere else, so regardless, The End Is Near, and I just can't get over the fact that the alleged cutting of my hours was due to thos one time when I got too high and didn't come in, except for the fact that my hours are just as "Barely Existent" as they were before I did that, so if what Coworker K said is true and my Not Shit hours are a result of a methamphetamine binge, then that means...it's a consequence in the first place that I'm about half-assed past Never there because I'm just the same amount of "never" there at work now AFTER the Got Too High Incident as I was BEFORE it. In conclusion, I'm starting a night-time custodial job at my city's local university starting this coming Monday at 5:30PM, and I accomplished that goal while being a Damn Near Felon with a Complicated Misdemeanor on my record, Featuring a tendency to fall back into partaking in Hoodrat Shit, and possibly while even having done so recently. But what that means is that second chances are a real thing, and I am Honored and Blessed to be a recipient of such a thing. I won't take it for granted, and I will take it very seriously, as of right this very second. 👊🏼
