Hi! So I’m posting here because I’m VERY 50-50. Please give me your honest opinion

I am a turo host. A new turo host. I have five vehicles up for the last two months. A scratch here, a scratch there never hurt me.

But, it finally happened. I got my first bad turo guest

It looks like the renter locked the keys in the car and tried to unlock it with a coat hanger. My trim is all torn up at the top. I’m fighting whether or not I should report this to Turo

Let me explain,

I’ve gotten so many scratches I haven’t cared about, but this specific renter was late for pickup, rude to me on the phone, late for drop off, left the car disgusting (spilled drinks all over the floor, food crumbs all over the back, disgusting odor.)

It’s a rental car fellas. It’s going to get a scratch or two. It’s not a $100,000 car. It’s a beater.

My problem comes in at she was rude to me the whole time, this damage is actually going to come out of pocket if I decide to fix it & the renter was rude about it. I sent her a nice message just asking if anything had happened and instead of saying “Yes” “No” or “Maybe so” she hit me with a “I don’t know I take no responsibility since I can not confirm whether or not it happened from me. It was not in the pictures when I picked it up, but i did not notice it. Please do not contact me again.”

So, I ask you guys, is it worth reporting to Turo to try to get reimbursed? If not, what do you guys recommend? Get a paint pen that’s black and just fill it in so it looks okay, or should I have a shop look at it in case the door isn’t lined up properly now?

(I picked up the car 30 minutes ago. This is recent)

Thank you for all comments! Genuinely not sure what to do. I’m leaning towards biting the bullet on it and just dealing with it because like I said - it is a rental car - but at the same time if I decide to fix it it’s probably gonna cost me more than the trip was to begin with.

Should I report this to turo
