N52 -> N54 intake w/no tune

My post got removed from r/BmwTech so I'm trying here:

Basically, my 328's starter finally went and I've always told myself that I'd do the 3SIM swap when/if this day came. However, now that I'm actually faced with the opportunity, I've realized that I'm not very interested in making my car even less reliable, nor do I want to spend $600 or whatever on a set of fresh DISAs.

This leaves me with the option of an N54 manifold, or even better, hacking up the stock IM as such. Seems that for either of these options I'd need to pay $$$ for a tune... I'm on a budget (go figure) so not interested in doing that -- even an OTS tune is probably worth more than this shit box.

Could I get away with doing this and just leaving the stock tune?
