Alpacas disappearing

Are anyone else’s alpacas disappearing? I had 4, two were the cotton candy ones. then they were gone. I thought “oh, maybe I accidentally had been breeding them and accidentally sold them after?” I bought 6 more and put the best ones in the shelter. I sold the other two. I just went to add some feed to their shelter and only two are there now. the others are not in my inventory and I have no been breeding any of my animals. all of my other animals are accounted for.
