Interview Experience

Venting - Advice Wanted

I feel like I should be very excited because I passed my board exam and I’m on track to get my state licensure. I am excited in those regards, but I’m having a really difficult time finding a job. I’ve had two job interviews and I did not get the first job, but it was before I had even taken my board exam. I interviewed for another position for outpatient peds. I felt like that the interview went really well and they told me they would call me by the end of the week with their decision for the position. I got home and checked the job posting on their job application portal, and it said that it had been filled by another applicant. Now, typically this would’ve made me just give up on the job completely. But during my interview today, the therapy manager told me that the position was listed as full-time, but whoever was going to be hired would actually be PRN because another therapist already there was going to move to full time. I am completely fine with a PRN and discussed that in my interview. I was just a little bit thrown off when I got home and saw that the position had been filled. In my mind, I am thinking maybe they just closed the full-time position application and will transition whoever they decide on a PRN when they actually make the hiring decision. It’s just been a lot of highs and lows lately. They are not a ton of Peds positions in my area and I feel like the ones that there are more seasoned therapists with more experience scooping them up. I guess there’s always a chance that I am still in the running for the job but seeing that just gave me a weird feeling that I didn’t get it. What do yall think?

TIA
