Accidentally deleted ‘Apple iPod Media’

today i got an ipod off of ebay. i feel plenty stupid for doing this, but in the process of attempting to fix the ipod being stuck on formatting, i ended up opening disk utility and wiping both the sd card that i had put in the ipod and the drive labeled Apple iPod Media, forgetting that while i plugged the sd card into my computer i had left the ipod plugged in. i had assumed that the second volume i saw was just some odd quirk of the failed formatting. now my ipod will only ever tell me to connect it to a computer, and when connected only shows up as USB storage. finder cannot see it as an ipod, and i have found nothing that could help me here. please give me any advice you can provide, im desperate
