Diabetic Cat rescue options?
I have an 8 yo cat that has been diagnosed with diabetes. We caught it early on last year and made a huge massive switch in food and feeding times and had great success with that. However, here we are a year later and it seems that this approach is no longer working. Our vet has given us a few options. Insulin and bexacat. Bexacat is incredibly expensive and we simply can not make the insulin injection times work in our current work schedules 😭
Kira is 1000% a loved family member but I feel as if we've come to a place in her care that we just can't take care of her properly anymore. I've spent thousands this last year and I feel like I'm treading water. I know I'll get alot of responses suggesting I quit my job or find a new one but that's just not feasible. I have literally made every step I can in the last year to avoid this outcome yet here I am.
Does anyone know of a rescue or foster within a 5ish hour drive that could help. She's the absolute sweetest girl and she deserves more than I have left to give her.
