Anybody else hoping for a little more self aware slapstick in this one?
Evil Dead Rise was a very good entry that I liked a lot, but the one thing about it I would criticize is its lack of self-aware slapstick humor. It had the one scene with the eyeball that was pretty classic and very Evil Dead, but that was pretty much it. I probably wouldn't have this criticism if this scene wasn't in the movie because it showed that they were willing to go there, just not for long.
Anyways, movie looks like it'll be a banger and I'm looking forward to it. Part of me hopes that the deadite dog will provide some Sam Raini-esque, taxidermied deer head type shit but I try not to hope for specific things like that.
