Make a DLC for Fallout 4 whereby both Nate and Nora survive Vault 111 (spoilers)

SpoilerFallout 4 :fo4:

This is simply stated but would require quite a bit of change in the Vanilla game to properly implement. I'd argue the level of the changes would require a whole DLC to implement, especially in terms of getting all the voice actors and voice actresses to make the necessary changes.

As to its logic to Fallout 4, both spouses surviving would have been the logical thing for the Institute to do. They critically need human DNA unspoiled by rads to properly make Gen 3 synths. Both spouses are essentially unarmed and helpless in the cryo pods. So, the Institute should have had Kellogg use a syringer to neutralize the parent holding Shaun, and they would have two backups instead of just one. They could have had a few synths there to hold the parent down, both to get Shaun and to neutralize -- but not kill -- the backup as a threat.

Having Kellogg use lethal force in a situation where the Institute held all the cards was a gigantic plot hole, plain and simple.

So, Shaun becomes head of the Institute, but once the parents find him, they will likely not go homicidal on Kellogg. Considering what is going on in the surface of the Commonwealth, Shaun being raised in the Institute proper is a boon, not a curse. So, to implement this, Kellogg's fate would need to be rewritten. Considering how good he is in surviving the post-War apocalypse, having him be a friendly NPC would add a lot to the game. Few people on the surface can survive off the land like him.

Also in need of rewriting would be every situation where both Nate and Nora would have reason to speak, Codsworth being a huge example. Nate and Nora, as a couple, would be a logical team, but there's still a ton of people to interact with, and perhaps travel with.

Also, Nate and Nora are a pre-War couple, so in talking both to each other and people in the Commonwealth, they would have that in common for each other, and that being different from everybody else. How would they react to the Nuka World raiders, for example? Or traveling to Bar Harbor in Maine, now a wrecked hunting grounds instead of the tourist paradise it would have been?

Major enemies such as Deathclaws are scary and imposing. Nate and Nora could have pithy one-liners when together and blowing the brains out of something like that.

They may have a different opinion of the Institute due to their son being in charge of it. But would they both be on board with blowing it up for the atrocities it commited, and still commit, with their flesh and blood running it?

There is a ton that would have to be made and remade because, let's face it, Nate and Nora are by their nature different from everybody else. They're both Sole Survivors, and if they're both alive and together, that would change everything. But, at the same time, this "changes everything" would be in a different way than adding a new map and some new items.

What do you think?
