Aggressive Behavior - Not Sure What Else to Do

Advice

She’s my baby. She’s a tortie so I know they often come with tortitude. But lately she’s been getting worse and I don’t know what to do. I’ve had spicy cats before, but she’s been the worst (I hate that word, but it’s true).

We play with her. We have interactive cat toys. We give her lots of love. We give her treats and and good clean water fountain. I scoop her litter every single day, sometimes twice. We don’t spray bottle her. I work from home so I rarely leave and even if I do, my partner is home with her.

I’d rather not put her on a medication like mood stabilizers or what they give humans. I hate the thought of having to drug her.

I’m taking her to the vet to get her claws trimmed on Wednesday. It’s been a minute since I’ve done that because I’ve been so busy. I’m wondering if that’s a factor. She’s also going to be getting her glands drained. I don’t see or feel any other issues with her.

Standing, sitting, or walking around, I am afraid of her. She will attack me no matter what at random. It’s not as bad when she has her claws trimmed because she doesn’t violently bite, it’s more like play biting. Sometimes she will sink her teeth but it’s rare.

I have her IAMS Healthy Weight & Furball dry food in a timed auto feeder where it gives her the lowest amount 3 times a day and a little bit before I go to bed (otherwise she gets mad and attacks me), which is still a lot. I give her healthy treats a few times a day. I’m also trying to prevent her from gaining any more weight as she is about 10 pounds and a smaller bodied cat. I do not typically give her wet food because again, I’m afraid of her gaining too much weight.

I plan to ask the vet what I can do, but I also wanted to ask real people if anything has worked for them. Feliway doesn’t phase her at all. So any advice would be appreciated.
