Why the hate for other PvP gamemodes/versions?

I've seen this very often. Someone makes a post about one gamemode as their personal favorite, and then everyone attacks like "But shields ruin PVP!" or something like that. This is a game in the end, and people can play it how they want. There is no point in trying to convince someone that their favorite PvP style is trash. Just let people have fun. (I do not mean people making some sort of PvP gamemode ranking or discussion in any way, I just mean people replying toxically to another person's personal opinion.)
