Is this a normal side effect?
F 20, I started sertraline about two weeks ago, taking 25mg and starting on 50mg tomorrow.
I also take 40mg Vyvanse just for some backstory, and I had tried Lexapro when i was 15 with no luck.
I have found with Sertraline, I feel more emotions if that makes sense; i don’t want to say i’m more ‘emotional’ because it’s not just negative emotions, but it’s almost like a dial was turned up in my brain. I have had struggles with disassociation/depersonalization in the past but it wasn’t something I thought I was currently dealing with until just over a week ago when I began noticing that I just feel everything more, it’s almost like everything that’s happened in the past two years has flooded into my nervous system and i’m feeling it all.
I’m not necessarily upset about it, because not being able to really feel sadness or cry, or care about some things had been bothering me for a few years but it is a little painful.
Sorry for the long post but i’m just wondering if this is a normal experience; Lexapro only made me more numb and i’m not sure if i’m supposed to be feeling more than I had with an antidepressant or if this is maybe my depression/anxiety getting worse.
