Soccer VAR

Can someone make the case for why VAR is good for soccer? Not a fan of the sport, but it seems to ruin some of these games. Iran should have advanced, but VAR found the dude was offside by 3 inches to take away a goal. In the Germany game today, a game-winning goal was reversed with a really questionable call. Seems like its no fun for the sport.
