i (25) broke up with him (36)(we’re gay) a week ago and he’s been spiraling texting me ever since. we were together 7 months and he struggled with his mental health a lot the last few, nothing imminently concerning but enough to make him quit his job, sleep all day, and drink and smoke all night. on my couch. i feel like he’s used every manipulation tactic he can manage both during and after our relationship to try to reel me in. he never takes accountability for his actions, it’s always related to something someone else did to him at one point or another.   
he’s insecure and needy and his anger was ramping up over the last month. he rarely got angry with me, and when he did it was always from a perceived slight that was cleared up as soon as i could get him to actually tell me what he was mad about. i’m embarrassed the relationship last this long.   
today i got a call from a hospital in the area saying he wanted to let me know that he was there. i was just in shock, and they put him on the phone for a minute. he sounded horrible, said something about being the love of his life, whatever. eventually i just let him go and told him to get better. the nurse said he was medically fine just very upset. i’m not his emergency contact, his family all lives in the area and he is close with them.   
he still has a key to my house and i’m so anxious he’ll come over and confront me, i haven’t even cried from sadness at all since the breakup. only because of how nervous and angry i am at him. i wanted this anxiety to end when we broke up but clearly he will be pushing me to get back together for the time being.
