Med School Affecting my (M28) marriage and wife (F28)
\
I just finished my first year and currently on break but this past year has put a huge strain on my marriage. As much as I try I cant help but be stressed a lot of the time. My wife and I are legally married but yet to have a wedding and I haven't gotten a wedding ring yet.
She feels neglected, while all her other friends are having weddings and getting houses we are still living like college students. She says that I am getting too comfortable and I feel like shes right. I feel so guilty about not working or trying harder to afford a wedding.
I feel horrible for not putting in the effort.
Shes currently working, but thinks im too comfortable in the relationship and that im not taking it seriously. Were both in our late 20s so there's a constant pressure of not being stable. She was the one that encourage me to go for med school as I was originally going to go back to school for nursing. I tried giving her a timeline but I dont think its enough. Im really lost.
What do you think is the best way to work this out?
