Roleplay partner wanted for world-building with slice of life and slow-burn romance

Mark is a 45yo widower and single dad to 9 year old twin girls. He’s been raising them alone since their mother died a few years ago. For the past few years he’s been able to work from home doing most of his work around their school and activity schedules. During the summers other family members have pitched in to help.

Recently his technology consulting firm landed a large client with locations across the country. What was a flexible work from home life has now become a life of travel and in person meetings. Mark is struggling to find someone who can care for them and provide a consistent life when he’s on the road.

Finally he admits to himself that he can no longer do it alone. It’s not the best thing for them and dating as a single dad is hard to do. It will be some time before he finds a new love, and even longer to find one that he can trust with his precious girls. 

There are other concerns as well. The idea of loving again is hard for him. The hurt and pain from the sudden loss of his best friend still runs deep. On top of that he recognizes that the girls will soon enter a phase of development where they need female guidance in ways that Mark could never understand, let alone provide..

He needs a nanny. Someone who can live in the guest suite and be with the girls every day or at least most days. Whether Mark is home or traveling, they need that constant presence and trustworthy caretaker. Someone who can relate to them, someone they can respect, and someone he can trust. 

The guest suite was always his late wife’s idea. She wanted it for their parents in their latter years so the two of them could care for their parents well. But now the need has shifted. It would be perfect for a woman in her 20s or 30s that has the freedom to live there full-time and meet the needs of the family. Of course he would pay her a salary as well, but she could choose whether to be independent in the guest suite or come out and have meals or spend free time with him and the girls.

The idea of an advertisement to the public doesn’t excite him. He has high standards for himself, his family, and the reputation and character of the nanny are non-negotiables.

Instead Mark turns to his friends and coworkers asking if they know anyone that might be a good fit. To his surprise one of them says yes and introduces him to …

In the end Mark and the nanny will develop a close bond that turns to passion and romance. Physical intimacy will happen but it isn’t the first step or even the last. Together we will build a world and perhaps if we both agree to it, they will marry and continue to build a life together.
