Help with financial projections in my business plan.

Hello All,

I am making a business plan for a business I want to start. It is a pet supplies business where I will essentially import goods from wholesalers and retail the goods for a profit. I don’t have enough money for a brick and mortar store yet so for the mean time I plan to have it online (website and social media).

I have gotten to the stage of financial projections and it has me stumped. Essentially am I just making up figures I presume my business will make? Am I to list out every item I plan to sell and project based on that? I really don’t know how to go about it and I don’t really understand the concept or function of it.

Can anyone break it down for me and or give me some guidance on how to approach making one?
