You were blindsided when you got laid off, the whole company got dissolved and in the blink of an eye, your career was gone. You had some savings and a partner who could provide for both of you, so you were better off than a lot of your former coworkers.

After a few months of trying to find a new job with little success, you fell into a rhythm. Wake up, have a coffee, tidy up the house. In the spring and summer, you added gardening to that list. You were enjoying your time as a housewife deep down, even if you told your friends you wanted to get another job.

But over time, you kept adding more and those feelings grew deeper. One night I mentioned offhand I was sick of spending so much on lunch, you immediately offered to start packing me a lunch every day. And soon enough you started to cook dinner, getting excited to make something new every night.

You began looking up recipes, accidentally stumbling onto some trad wife creators. In the past it would've disgusted you, but it sparked something. You were already doing all of this stuff anyway and it brought you happiness.

The biggest difference between you and them at this point though was the bedroom. They promoted complete submission in bed, and motherhood was the fulfillment of that.

You and your boyfriend had always wanted kids, but you wanted to become more situated in your job. But now without a job, why not go off birth control? Take the last step, fall completely into the trad wife role and be his baby maker.
