I think a lot of people are delusional about the US
I've been seeing a ton of people, especially younger and progressive people saying that they wished they wish to leave India forever for the US, and I mean I kinda get why; our country's condition is worsening everyday.
However, I don't think the US is the ideal utopia a lot of people think it is. If you're brown, then congratulations, you're gonna be discriminated against for no apparent reason, and people won't even take racism against you seriously. Apart from this, there are druggies who roam the streets even in the day. The police usually only GAF if crime happens in good areas, if you're in a bad area, you're a lot on your own. And oh, the real killer, cost of living. I get that inflation has been hitting India hard nowadays, but the condition of the US is wayyy worse.
Anyway, don't take this post the wrong way. I'm not saying we're greater than America, not at all, we need a lot more development, a lot more education, and a lot more work to be done. But America is also not an utopia where everything is sunshine and rainbows.
