Looking for a decent MPVO

I'd like something that is around 3-12x, but will keep an open mind for 3-9x or 4-16x depending.

The optic is going on my BCM/PSA Frankenstein. I don't, and I probably never will, have $1,400+ to spend on glass, but simultaneously I've had experience with sub $500 glass and have not much good to say about those experiences. I know someone is not going to take that as an acceptable answer and go "BuT wHaT Is yOUr BudGEt", so let's say under $1k if possible.

Anything fairly decent out there?
