How do you handle notifications?

My NYC apartment has a doorman during the day and had a normal buzzer system that rings the apartment but just installed ButterflyMX… my phone is always on vibrate. I dont think Ive heard it make a noise since 2010. I have missed every.single.delivery.notification. Like I know my food is coming in twenty minutes but Im not going to sit here and stare at my phone waiting for the guy to actually ring the door. If a call comes theough, it persistently vibrates my apple watch and I’ll get it. ButterflyMX? Just a simple push notification that can’t vibrate?

Since we have a doorman during the day this literally affects food deliveries in the evening only. It’s just bonkers that to me that the “dumb” system works so much better in practicality. I can understand the major benefit of this system for package deliveries but in my case that is irrelevant.

So how do others manage your food deliveries? Something in the notification settings Im just too geriatric to figure out? Do you just stare at your phone until it pops a notification? Do you listen to your phone on loud like an insane person?
