[New Gear] Canon EOS-1Ds + EF 28-135mm IS USM
If I'm being honest, I did buy this on a bit of an impulse, though I traded off another lens I didn't use for these, so I ended up getting the camera and lens at a discount. I've always looked at old cameras in a unique way, especially the older 1Ds models. I was thinking about getting a 1Ds2 when I bought my 7Dmk2 almost a year ago, I decided against it at the time since it was too old. Now that I have the 7Dmk2, I decided to cough up a couple clams and buy this ... older, 1Ds. It feels very nice, very sturdy. Ergonomics are great. It is a little heavy, but I'm kind of used to heavier cameras. While it was listed in 'Well Used' cosmetic condition, it's better than I would've first thought, definitely good for it being 24 years old.
As for the EF 28-135mm, I bought it alongside the 1Ds to replace the lens I traded in, being an EF-S 18-135mm. This lens leaves a bit to be desired, mainly in that zooming in and out is a bit sticky, and this lens suffers from zoom creep. Apart from that, it seems like a good lens, all of the sample photos seen here were shot with it at varying focal lengths.
