Over the range microwave incident…

Was making pasta at lunch on my new LG induction stove (it was going full boil). My over the range Whirlpool microwave had the exhaust fan running, but I noticed the front of the microwave was quite heavily covered in moisture (so much I used a paper towel to try and wipe away a bunch of the moisture).

I put something in the microwave, started it and it made a really loud electrical SNAP! noise. I opened the door right away (it looked like it was still running when I opened the door). The exhaust fan kept running.

My questions:

- what the hell was the snap noise?
- it’s been about 4 hours, when should I try my microwave again?
- did I do any permanent damage?
