Current Default

My fiance is defaulted on his student loans. He owes less than 7k so it's not super bad. However I was wondering if he needs to select a new plan before or after July 1st. Or will he be apart of that 90 day notice. Searching online isn't giving me direct answers on this lol. Any info is helpful!
