So you have to buy new DisplayPort cables to fully use Streaming Services now?

Apparently, my display port 1.4 cable is now officially trash. Despite running my 2K monitor at 240 Hz.

Amazon Prime now has the ability to see what generation of display cables you’re using and limit you to 1080p if you’re not using HDCP(High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) 2.2 or above cables.

Kind of concerning about how much information they can pull off your computer without your authorization.

Is there anyway to get around this or am I just pigeonholed into buying new cables?
