Incoming grad student looking for studio apt recommendations
Hey everyone,
I’m moving to Philly this fall for my MBA at Drexel and am currently apartment hunting for a September 1st lease start.
I’m looking for either a private studio and want to get some real student feedback on where to look. I'd love recommendations on specific buildings, local property management companies, or even pockets of the neighbourhood to focus on.
This is my criteria:
- Budget: Around $1,200/month max.
- Size: Ideally at least 400 sq. ft. (trying to avoid tiny micro-studios if possible).
- Location: Needs to be within safe, reasonable walking or cycling distance to campus.
Where do graduate students usually look if they want a decent amount of space without breaking the bank? What areas or landlords should I absolutely check out, and are there any major red flags I should avoid around University City?
Appreciate any advice or leads you guys can throw my way. Thanks!
