2026 Tiguan Dashboard Compass Fix

I've seen a few discussions of dashboard compass that say the compass is "not available." It looks like after several visits to dealerships some people have been able to get the matter fixed, but I cannot find an actual description of what the issue was. My first visit to the dealership I was told it's a feature for the compass to only work when using navigation. Which is silly. But if anyone could share exactly what was done to their compass to fix it, I would really appreciate your help.
