Electrical engineering laptop

Discussion

I’ve been considering a few laptops as an electrical engineering student. Here are the specs I need.

Operating System: Windows 11

Processor: Gen 8 or newer Intel i5/Core Ultra 5 or AMD Equivalent (Gen 10+ Intel i7/Core Ultra 7 or AMD Equivalent recommended)*

Memory (RAM): 16 GB (higher recommended)

Storage: 512+ GB SSD (NVMe recommended)
Graphics: Discrete Graphics Card (Nvidia, AMD)

Wireless Connectivity: 802.11n or better

My budget is around $2300

I’ve been considering this laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad P14s Gen 6 Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, 16C, 14.5" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Non-Touch 400 nits, 60Hz, 32GB RAM DDR5, 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA RTX Pro 500 Backlit KYB, Fingerprint Reader, Windows 11 Pro

I’ve also been considering the Lenovo Thinkpad p1.

Does the portability of the p14s outweigh the bigger screen of the p1?

Other than these laptops, do you have different recommendations from other brands?

Thank you
