The Moonlit Prince
Long ago
There was a young boy who founded
The greatest kingdom around and
Made a map and a pact
To never let the secret out
In fact
He thought the whole thing would crumble down if
Anyone else found it
He would wait all day for the sun to die
To shrivel up and fall out of the sky
He wished to bask in its light
But the glare was too bright
The crowds were too loud
The people’s greetings sound like shrieking
Too many cars honking and beeping
So one day he drew back his arrow
and launched it
And walked to retrieve the wood
from its carcass
So when the sun went down
it all came alive
The streets were empty
but they finally shined
And he’d sing
“The street lamps shine like stars
But the world isn’t ours
It’s mine”
The Moonlit
Prince
Who is he?
The Moonlit
Prince
