What to do when you get rejected by your crush for the first time as a teenager?

I don’t know what to do? I FINALLY get the courage to shoot my shot for the very first time just for me to miss. I really liked him, and I thought he liked me too. I finally make up the courage to tell him after a whole year for him just to say, I’m not interested. I know it’s not that big of a deal but it was to me… I’ve never felt that way before towards a person before. I feel hurt and embarrassed and honestly I’m scared to go back to highschool and see him. I just don’t know what to do?
